Whether you lead communications, culture, or leadership development in your organisation or simply care about helping your workplace thrive, here’s why your next best strategy might be as simple (and powerful) as a story.
What Storytelling Has to Do With Mondays
Let’s be honest: we’ve normalised the “Thank God It’s Friday” mindset. But what if we flipped that script?
Instead of dreading the start of the week, what if we used Monday as a moment of reconnection to purpose, to each other, and to the real stories happening in our organisations?
That’s why I want you to associate the phrase “Thank God It’s Monday” with storytelling.
Put it in your calendar. Let it serve as a weekly reminder to:
- Look for stories in your team
- Start your Monday with something that inspires
- Reflect on what matters—before diving into the to-do list
Because when you create space for meaning, connection follows.
From Insight to Action: Where Your Storytelling Journey Starts
Knowledge without action doesn’t lead to transformation.
So here’s what I recommend for any leader, HR team, or culture champion ready to take the next step:
1. Reflect and then share it
If something you read or heard sparked a new thought, don’t let it end there. Share your reflections with your team. Start a conversation with your manager.
2. Bookmark your Mondays
Add a recurring Monday reminder to your calendar titled: “Thank God It’s Monday: Story Check-In”
Use it to jot down a workplace moment, a colleague’s insight, or something meaningful you want to share later. Storytelling is a muscle. Practice builds strength.
3. Talk to your team
Business storytelling becomes culture-building when more than one voice is involved. Share your thoughts with a colleague, in a meeting, or through your internal comms. Storytelling is contagious but someone has to start.
4. Subscribe to the newsletter
I send a monthly storytelling newsletter designed for people like you, leaders who care about culture, communication, and connection. Each edition shares tips, frameworks, and a fresh question to guide your month. Sign up today and let your inbox work smarter.
5. Book a call
If you’re thinking: This is what we need, but I don’t know where to start, let’s talk. This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a conversation.
On our call, we’ll:
- Clarify your goals
- Identify what’s currently missing
- Explore if business storytelling is the right tool to meet your team’s needs
Book your call here: BeatriceCalendar.as.me/BookBeatriceToSpeak
If we’re a fit, we’ll talk about next steps. If not, I’ll point you to other resources or people who can help.
